SM City General Trias Breaks Ground
June 14, 2024--- As a testament to the continuing progress of the City of General Trias in Cavite, another milestone happened as SM Supermalls held a groundbreaking ceremony in the vicinity of Profriends’ flagship project, Lancaster New City. The event which was held in Pasong Camachile in General Trias signifies the beginning of the construction of the newest and “most modern” SM mall in the country.
Present in the groundbreaking ceremony was Shopping Center Management Corporation (SCMC) President Steven Tan, General Trias City Mayor Luis “Jonjon” Ferrer IV, LGU representatives, Federal Land officers, Maplecrest Group Inc. (MGI) officers, Profriends Chairman Guillermo Choa, and Profriends President Kathleen Choa.
The vibrant and growing community in Lancaster New City has greatly contributed to the viability of the area to be a place of further development, reason why business partners such as SM and GT Capital have taken interest in building mixed-use development in the land previously-owned by MGI, the parent company of Profriends.
The new SM mall that will soon rise will be accessible from within the township and via the Open Canal that connects to Lancaster’s soon-to-be-completed CALAX exit.
In just less than two decades, Lancaster has evolved from a simple gated development to being a township with over 100,000 residents who are now seeing the entry of new “kapitbahays” that complement the vibrant community life that Profriends started in Cavite.
